Roland ("Tank")!

(From Saga & Odin's Fourth Litter)

Born Memorial Day, 2005

I am quite pleased to present the latest photos of Roland!  Roland was from Saga & Odin's Fourth Litter, born Memorial Day, 2005!!  Roland was the giant of this litter.  He outweighed his brothers & sisters so much that we nicknamed him "Tank".  He was such a very sweet tempered boy!  The other pups elected him as their natural leader.  He never threw his weight around, and the other pups just seemed to look up to him in more than just a physical way.  A natural-born leader!  I was really hopeful that we would find him just the right family, because I believed that he would be great with kids.  Sure enough, we did find him the perfect family!  His new daddy is a U.S. military officer who served his country with distinction in the war in Iraq!  Now, our "Tank", Roland can serve his country by protecting and loving this proud military family!  His new mommy writes:

"We are enjoying him everyday and he is now the biggest dog in the house, which I think is difficult for our old girl dog.  I knew Great Danes were lap dogs and he is living up to the rumor.

The first picture is of Roland with his dad enjoying floor time.  The second is of Roland enjoying the handouts of our youngest son Aiden...we have since ceased that bad habit because Aiden was giving everything to the dogs.  The third is of Roland enjoying special attention from our oldest son

Nathan.  I will try to get a picture of him and his sister Reagan [also owned by a military family] together...she comes over to the house to visit and they have so much fun running around.

I am getting more and more comments each day on how gorgeous he is.  Our walks have become show time for him and he enjoys meeting everyone along the route.

I will keep you updated as he continues to grow and mature.  We thank you for him and are so glad we get to enjoy his company."

I am so proud of Roland, and even prouder that he is bringing such joy to a family who is so nice and deserves so much!  May they have a long, happy life together!  Go Roland!
